Wow! This might be one of the weirdest looking animals I've ever seen, how about you? This wacky looking fish is known as a Blob Fish. It's quite a fitting name, don't ya think? It doesn't look this weird in it's natural habitat, which is 2,000-6,000 feet deep in the sea. This is because their skin, which is a lot like jello, rises in the water because of its low density. Here is an interesting fact: the Blob Fish was nominated the title of "World's Ugliest Animal" in 2013! Poor blob fish.

Well isn't that an awful long and complicated name for such a cute octopus. These creatures are nicknamed "Dumbo Octopus" for their ear-like flaps at the top of their heads. Dumbo Octopus is a lot easier to say than Grimpoteuthis, don't ya think? These cute little octopuses have been found in the water of New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and a couple spots in the USA! They live about 13,000 feet deep in these waters. That's way deeper than the Blob Fish! You might recognize the Dumbo Octopus from "Finding Nemo". Nemo has a pink Dumbo Octopus friend who has a famous line of "Heyyyy! You guys made me squirt."

From its red frown to its spiky shell to its wide flipper feet, the Red-Lipped Batfish screams individuality. These crab-like fish live in the very shallow water of the Galapagos Islands. How shallow you ask? Only 30 cm! That's nothing compared to the Dumbo Octopus!
